Before the no touch laser method, it was necessary to “touch” the eye in order to get rid of eyeglasses and contact lenses with the conventional laser treatments.
This may cause uneasiness in patients who prefer laser operation.
The laser method called the TransPRK (No Touch) technique prevents this uneasiness.
There is no device contact to the eye in laser treatment performed with this method. It is sufficient for the patient to look at a remote light source within seconds. What is the difference of TransPRK (No Touch) method from other laser treatment methods? In LASIK and intraLASIK (femto-second) techniques, the corneal tissue in the eye is cut with a special knife or laser and then treated.
In the PRK method, the anterior wall of the eye is melted with alcohol and then treated. In No Touch treatment, this is not done and the treatment takes place in one step.
In this method, it is sufficient to look at a remote light source for less than 50 seconds. This method minimizes the risk of progressive corneal thinning due to surgery and high astigmatism due to surgery, which can be seen after LASIK and femto-second (intraLASIK, i-LASIK) treatments, called ectasia.

In addition, it completely eliminates the risk of retinal rupture that may be caused by the vacuum (suction) ring applied to the eye in LASIK and femto-second methods.

For which patients can this method be used?
It can be applied to myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism patients with appropriate eye structure. So, patients with distant and near vision problems may be candidates for this treatment. Especially in patients with thin corneas and corneal surface steeper than normal, No Touch treatment may be the only method to solve the problem.

How is the application performed?
Treatment is performed only by instillation of anesthetic drops and the patient feels no pain during administration. During the treatment, there is no contact of the device with the eye; After treatment, the eyes do not need to be closed, the patient can go home by keeping both eyes open. Application is done to both eyes in the same treatment session. After the patient goes home, symptoms such as stinging in the eyes, redness, disturbance of light and blurred vision of small writings on television develop for 36 hours. On the 4th day after treatment, the patient begins to work on the computer and do automobile-type work.

What is the application for night vision problems?
In the wavefront application, also known as ‘eagle eye” in the public, light scattering and aberration within the eye are measured and laser treatment is adjusted accordingly. When these deviations cannot be corrected even with glasses or lenses, the wavefront technique corrects the treatment according to one’s own eye structure. As a result, the patient’s night vision increases and the glare-like complaints caused by the oncoming car headlights at night ends.

Why to Prefer No Touch Laser?
No touch laser treatment takes place without eye contact with the device. Treatment is completed in seconds. The hyaloid membrane is not removed from the eye, the eye is not scratched, no parts are removed from the eye. The epithelium of the eye is not cleaned with alcohol; There is no pain during treatment. Two eyes are treated in the same session. Eyes are not closed after treatment. It can be applied to patients with thin cornea. The risk of ectasia is close to zero. The risk of retinal rupture is zero. Membrane wrinkle, cell accumulation under the membrane type problems do not occur. It can be applied to myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. The severity of dry eye after treatment is low and temporary. While it is necessary to protect the eyes from impacts for a long period of time after LASIK and femto-second type treatments, no protection is required 3 or 4 days after the no touch treatment. After the treatment, it is possible to swim in the sea or pool from the 7th day.

The use of laser technology in eye treatment was developed between 1988 and 1990 and tested and started to be applied. Excimer laser is the name of the device that applies the laser to the eye with perfect precision. Most laser eye treatments are performed with the help of this device. It is a surgical method used in the treatment of refractive defects such as myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia. Excimer laser device is programmed by computer and reshaping the corneal layer according to the type, degree, corneal thickness of the patient’s vision and re-vision is provided.
This is exactly what is commonly known as “eye laser surgery”.

What are the treatments using Excimer Laser?
PRK technique is the application of laser after removal of the corneal epithelium.
Corneal epithelial tissue regenerates itself in 3 days.
LASEK technique is the removal of corneal epithelium by softening with alcohol and applying laser to the underside. The epithelium is then placed back into its original position. It will take three days for the epithelial tissue to regenerate itself.

A flap is removed from the corneal tissue with a mechanical blade and excimer laser beams are applied to the tissue under the valve to correct the visual defect.
Intralase LASIK
In this method, no mechanical knife is used and the flap is opened with laser. Intralase Lasik Excimer Laser, which is performed with the use of IntraLase iFS femtosecond laser technology and personalized Excimer Laser, for the correction of visual defects such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism in refractive surgery.
Intralase LASIK, also known as ILASIK, is the safest treatment with laser.

WAVEFRONT (Individualized treatment)
With the help of wavefront analysis, a better quality of vision is obtained, since defects other than the refractive errors can be also eliminated. Wavefront, like the fingerprint of a person, is an individualized treatment method that is studied on the patient’s own corneal map. In this way, the quality of vision in the dark is higher than other standard laser methods. Since the characteristic structure of each eye is different from each other, the difference of this treatment from others is that it is a treatment specific to the individual.
Advanced Eye Tracking System
This is a feature of the device used during the Lasik treatment. Turbo Eye Tracker (turbo eye tracking) system allows patients to observe all horizontal and vertical movements in their eyes. During operation, the device will stop itself and do not take any action that could compromise the patient’s eye health, such as when the patient moves his / her eyes more than necessary. When the patient is re-admitted to the laser device, if the conditions are maintained, the device will resume the procedure left in the eye.
Static Torsion control automatically corrects even the smallest eye movements in the patient’s vertical (sitting) and horizontal (supine) position.

Who can get Excimer Laser treatment?
Those over the age of 18 who wear eyeglasses or use contact lenses.
Those who do not have eye diseases such as keratoconus and eye pressure.
Those without systemic diseases such as diabetes and rheumatism.
Those with an eye defect that has not changed for at least a year.
Those who are not pregnant and breastfeeding.
What to Consider Before Laser Treatment?
Patients using hard contact lenses should discontinue use of lenses for 3 weeks and those who use soft contact lenses for 1 week.

Lasik laser surgery is the most commonly used technique in the treatment of refractive errors of the eye (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism). In this technique, the layer of 100 to 120 microns on the surface of the cornea is lifted as a flap with the help of a special device.
Lasek Laser Surgery
Lasek laser surgery is one of the latest techniques used in the treatment of refractive errors of the eye (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism).
In this system, the top layer of the cornea is partially removed by denaturing with 18% alcohol and Excimer Laser operation is performed underneath.
The removed layer is closed again.
Lasek operations are preferred I cases where the Lasik method cannot be applied.
UV Crosslinking (Radiation Therapy)
The main purpose of this treatment is to restore the anatomical integrity of the tissue by increasing the cross-links between the collagen fibers which form the basic structure of the corneal tissue and lose its resistance by weakening in keratoconus disease. It is basically a drug treatment. It takes an hour.
Riboflavin vitamin is dropped to the patient and a small amount of ultraviolet is given with a special device calibrated for 30 minutes. This treatment is a treatment that stops the progression of the disease.

YAG Laser
